Situated in the Indian Ocean, some 1600 km off the East African Coast, the Seychelles is among the world’s most spectacular holiday destinations. Home to Anse Source d’Argent, considered one of the world’s most popular beaches, Praslin has plenty of relics of another age, among them cemetery of the early settlers, a working calorifer, magnificent Creole mansion and a giant tortoise pen.
The colorful world of the coral isles of Bird and Denis are situated some 52miles north of Mah. Nesting turtles, seabird colonies, golden sands and silver surf adore these gems. Near the edge of the not so deep Seychelles bank, the ocean plummets to 2000m thereby forming a nirvana in which snorkeling, fishing and diving fanatics find much pleasure.
It would be abominable to depart Seychelles, without seeing the Giant Tortoises en Masse in Aldabra Atoll, one of the two World Heritage Sites in the region. Though a hard island to reach, it embraces more than 150, 000 of the slow veggie-eating giants: by far the largest population of tortoises anywhere on earth and a spectacle to cherish.
