Does The Samsung LN52b750 Live Up To The Hype?

As your TV starts to show its age you’re probably thinking about getting another one. There are many brands of cheap TV’s out there but you want a good one. The Samsung Ln52b750 is probably your best bet for a living room TV. Obviously if you’re still using a tube based television then you will be delighted to own an LCD TV. After all what’s not to love about them?

Based in South Korea Samsung is one of the best electronics companies in the world. It’s no secret, old CRT TV’s are being phased out, these old TV’s are very bulky and cumbersome. Combined with the fact that we will be using digital over the air broadcasts instead of analog, the older TV’s are becoming useless. Many people still say their older TV’s give off better picture, this is just stubbornness.

So theirs no confusion HDTV stands for High Definition Television, and CRT stands for Catheon Ray Tube. HDTV’s are capable of producing very crisp colorful images. Compared side by side there is a very noticeable difference. Everything you will watch on these HDTV’s will have increased clarity and definition.

But one of the big selling points to HDTV’s is there size. The width of the screen is still the same but the depth of the unit is nowhere as big as a traditional tube TV. Flat panels are very skinny, most not more than 3 or 4 inches thick. As you can see this is preferable to being as thick as 1 or 2 feet.

Let’s review the Samsung Ln52b750 specifications. It is a 52 inch LCD flat panel. Both digital and analog tuners are included in this model so you can watch either broadcast type. Its 33. 8 inches high 49. 6 inches wide, and 12 inches deep. Picture in a Picture is supported on this model.

Keep in mind the above mentioned measurements include the stand. Weight of the unit is around 68 pounds. Maximum supported screen resolution is 1920 X 1080. The format of the display is 1080p and has a two millisecond pixel response time. Onboard sound consist of two 10 watt speakers one on either side. This unit does have a sleep mode but while it’s active the power consumption is around 190 watts.

The unit also has hdmi, composite, component, and coaxial inputs. Whatever you’re going to hook up to it chances are you’ll be successful. The only offset to this unit is its price. Currently it retails between 2000. 00 and 3000. 00 dollars depending on your location. The unit does come with the stand; some companies may make you buy that separate.

When choosing an hdtv its important to keep in mind your needs. If you want a large TV for a main living room then the Samsung Ln52b750 is the choice for you. Remember that these TV’s are a bit more fragile than the old tube TV’s s. In fact the resemble computer monitors more than televisions now. It’s important to remember not to try to set anything on top of these types of televisions as that may cause an issue. Electronics and fishbowls do not mix very well.
