How Much Is To Much Good Advertising?

It is easy to see why many business people think that they cant get enough from their internet advertising. As far as SEO management goes, when you speak to most business people, they will tell you that more is better and that you can never get enough traffic directed to your website. This is definitely not the case.

As with any advertising campaign, it is important for you to monitor your company’s web site, and determine what aspects of the site are effective, and which aspects of the web site need to be improved. When it comes to advertising via a web site, you also need to monitor the amount of traffic, and new customers that are using your products and services, in order to ensure that your business can handle the growth associated with these new customers. Unfortunately many business do not consider this aspect of web advertising, their only concern is about constantly increasing the number of visitors to the web site every week, month, quarter or year.

While not enough advertising is not a good thing for any business, too much web advertising can be detrimental to your business. If you attract many new customers, but cannot provide the required products or services, this can have a serous negative impact on the reputation of your business. And what about your existing customers, who have helped make your business what is today, would they still be satisfied with the products or services they are getting? If your business grows to much too quickly, not only can you loose your new customers, because you are not able to meet the new demands, but you could also loose your existing customers, which could mean disaster for your business.

It may sound unreasonable to those who are still struggling to get noticed by the major search engine spiders like Google and Yahoo, but if you were to get a top ranking on Google, your business would sky rocket, and although that sounds like a good thing, if your business cant keep up with the customer flow than you are sunk. You really cant afford to take on more business than you can actually handle as this will leave dissatisfied customers and will eventually be the downfall of your business.

If you are looking to grow your business this is not a bad thing, but it is something that needs to be monitored and controlled. Part of this monitoring and control is managing you web advertising, and making sure you can handle the anticipated growth that this advertising will bring to your business.

Finding Your Way Around Through The Internet

Google first launched their Google Earth software in 2005, and people were immediately fascinated by the potential of this very powerful tool. The first thing most people wanted to see was the images of where they live, and after that people typically started searching for famous landmarks, both locally and around the world. In addition to all of the amazing images that Google Earth was making available for everyone there was also a wealth of information and figures that were being provided as people sat in their homes and explored the planet.

In addition to satisfying the curiosity of the average Google users, Google Earth has also become an invaluable tool for emergency services personal across the United States, and internationally as well. Google Earth helps emergency services personnel not only find locations were critical services are needed, but it also provides detailed images of these places which may eliminate problems, or facilitate the job of the emergency services personnel when they reach their destination.

Google Earth is helping emergency services departments in various countries, and in the U.S. at a state, county and city/town level as well. Since the tool is easy to use, available on any PC, and can be enhanced with additional information only available for emergency services departments, Google Earth is becoming a part of more and more emergency service departments command centers. The information that Google Earth can provide could mean the difference in life or death. It can also help smaller departments determine the best use of limited resources, since the Google Earth images can often provide additional information about an incident that may not be available from a 911 call, or even visible by first responders already on the scene.

Google Earth does not have the satellites in place that would be required to provide real time feeds to emergency services personnel on site, however the images available on Google Earth are pretty close to real time. In addition to the most up to date maps available, Google Earth also provides extra information to emergency services command centers that they do not make available to civilian users of Google Earth.

Google continues to introduce state of the art technology to its users that cover a wide variety of topics, from personal to professional. Google is truly a remarkable company that is constantly working to provide the best, most innovative products, possible.

Is Windows 7 Really Better Than Vista?

This is really a loaded question. Windows Vista is probably the biggest failure in the history of Microsoft. From day one the operating system was plagued with numerous problems and angry users who suddenly missed their old XP or 2000 operating systems. It was almost impossible for Microsoft to release an operating system that was worse then Vista, or more hated, so if that were the case the reputation of Windows may have been irreparably harmed. That being said, Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system is far superior to not only Vista, but all of the Windows operating systems that came before it.

Microsoft did have users test their new operating system before it was made available to the general public. Of the 550 users who test Windows 7 before its release, many had at least minimal familiarity with Windows products prior to this trial. Of these 550 users, 61% are using the system for home and personal use mostly, 25% said they were using it for both home and work equally and about 14% found themselves using it almost entirely for their business needs. The testers were also split between users who installed the Windows 7 operating system into a clean computer, and users who installed it directly over Windows Vista.

The testing went very well, with very few issues reported, and little difficulty with the installation of the Windows 7 operating system. The issues that were encountered were issues that could arise from the installation of any operating system, such as existing software on the PC that is incompatible with Windows 7, or drivers for certain hardware devices that were incompatible with Windows 7. In these case a patch from the manufacturer of the software or hardware device and probably eliminate the issues altogether. There was a small number of users that ended up having their computers crash during the installation process, but this is also inevitable when installing an operating system, and should not dissuade anyone from upgrading to Windows 7 if they want to.

After the installation portion of the testing, the users then began to use the Windows 7 operating system, and were able to see the vast improvements that Microsoft made when compared to Windows Vista. The test results were overwhelmingly supportive of Windows 7. When the test scores were compiled, only 5% of the testers said they were unsatisfied with Windows 7, compared to almost half of the testers for Vista who were unsatisfied. Clearly Windows 7 is a significant improvement to Vista.

Microsoft’s promise of their best operating system ever may have finally come true with Windows 7. Microsoft learned many hard lessons from the Vista operating system, and took those lessons, along with significant feedback from the user community into consideration when developing Windows 7. That being said, there are of course some bugs and glitches in the Windows 7 operating system, but Microsoft is hard at work resolving those issues, and distributing patches and updates automatically to Windows 7 users. As long as Microsoft remains diligent in fixing Windows 7 issues as they arise, then their is no reason why any PC owner should not upgrade if they have the chance. This is especially true if you are still using Vista and it is making you miserable.

Blog Myths Exposed

A huge trail of controversies and myths still continue to exist within the blogosphere. This article was written to dispel some of the blog myths outlined below.

Anyone can start a blog. Not just anyone! Obviously, you should know how to use the computer, need an Internet connection and some experience using the Internet. You also need a host for your blog; there are blog hosts that are free and some that cost a small amount per month. One last requirement is not just an ability to communicate your thoughts but also a willingness to do so.

Anyone can set up a blog. It all depends on your blog hosts. Some blogs hosts have simpler user interface and in minutes your blog will be up in minutes. But there are others that get far more technical than the average users may be ready for.

Blogging doesn’t take up that much time. That depends! Some posts, when you have a clear idea of what you want to say, may take just a few minutes while you may struggle for days (literally) with others that involve complex issues or thoughts. In general, blogging is a daily activity for the serious blogger (some bloggers write up to ten posts a day) and a once-a-week activity for the casual blogger.

Most blogs are political. Many blogs focus on political topics but most blogs are just bloggers discussing their lives, loves and travels.

Blogs are in competition with the main-stream media. This is true in a few cases (not as many cases as bloggers would have you think). Just recently, there have been some very popular and influential social and politically-oriented blogs that have caused main-stream media outlets to back-track and change their coverage of important events.

Bloggers are just having fun criticizing everyone and everything and have no new information to add. True in some cases. Today, blogging is much more than the personal activity it used to be. Corporations, media outlets, public personalities, politicians and experts in almost every field have now joined the ranks of blog producers. Considering all this expertise, one would have to say that bloggers have a lot of new information to add to any debate.

Blogs don’t always tell the truth. That’s a bit of an overstatement. You may read bad information and even intentional untruths in blogs but, for the most part, bloggers who state facts are stating what they honestly believe to be fact. It is always up to the reader to verify that any information they receive is accurate information.

How to Choose the Appropriate Search Engine Marketing Company for Your Needs

Choosing the right search engine marketing company (SEM) is not an easy task. Before choosing the first company you find, you should consider several different things to help determine your specific needs. This will ensure the SEM company hired to help your business will work best for you.

Trust Is Critical When Choosing a SEM Company

The most important factor is that you choose a SEM company you can trust. Meet with several different companies to discuss some plans before delving into detailed plans. Your business will enter into a relationship with the company and as this relationship develops, information pertinent to the success of your business will be released. If the company cannot be trusted, you are risking your business’ well being.

In helping deduce whether the SEM is trustworthy, you should insist that they show you some references. If they are wary about providing you with references, you should take this as a major warning, because any reputable SEM would not be afraid to show you their references. If the company you chose to work with is new and does not have a lot of experience, you should tread carefully in this situation and figure during your interviews with them if they are worth your time and money.

Next, ask yourself if the search engine marketing company answer all of your questions to the fullest possible extent without dodging any aspect? If the company is willing to provide any information you ask for without hesitation and willing to fully explain the process, it’s a safe bet you can trust them.

If the search engine marketing company tries to pressure you into anything or services you don’t need or understand, do not trust them. However, understand that sometimes they will point out problems with your site. If they are big problems, then you should correct time because there is no point in paying for advertising is your site cannot convert interested visitors into paying customers.

Identify the Services You Need

Not all search engine marketing companies are created equally. Though there are many basic services such as search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertisement and pay-for-inclusion services, search engine marketing and optimization will involve several different things from a site re-design to new content and marketing to build back links — links to your site from another reputable site — to help increase rankings naturally. Pay-per-click campaigns will advertise your company in the search engine results page on the sidebars, and you will pay each time the ads get clicked. Pay for inclusion services allow you to pay to have search engines crawl certain pages of your website with a certain frequency.

Find a Comfortable Risk Level

Every marketing plan from a SEM will require and investment before knowing how much money the company will make back in sales and new customers. It is of vital importance to know beforehand how many risks you are willing to take. Do not let any company pressure you into more than what you want.

Be slow and cautious in locating and deciding what SEM to choose. This is not a thing to be rushed since it will play a large hand in the investment and business relationship if you desire the best results. The SEM company you end up choosing should be willing to help you in all aspects in deciding on the right company for you needs.

You Have Goals! Discover How to Choose the Correct Search Engine Marketing Company

Considering which search engine marketing company (SEM) you should chose is no easy thing. The first company you find is not always the best to meet your needs, which is why it is wise to take your time in choosing a SEM. That way the company you decided on doing business with will be one to accommodate your needs.

Finding A SEM Company To Trust

The most important thing you can do is to make sure you have picked a company you can trust. You should meet and mingle with a few other companies and talk about planning before you get into the detailed planning. Your business and the company you chose will now have a relationship between one another, and as this relationship continues to grow, information essential in making your business thrive will be released. If you cannot trust the people you are doing business with you are risking your financial well-being.

To help gauge whether or not the search engine marketing company can be trusted, ask them to provide references. If they are reluctant to provide references, this is a major red flag, as any search engine marketing company with experience and a good reputation in the industry should not fear this. If the company doesn’t have references to provide due to a lack of experience, you’ll need to proceed with caution and gauge other aspects of the interview to determine if they are worth the shot.

Now you should ask yourself if the company answered all your questions to the fullest potential or did they try cleverly dodging some? If that particular SEM company can answer all of your questions and without hesitating, elaborating on details and fully explains the processes to you, it is probably a safe assumption that the company is trustworthy.

If the search engine marketing company tries to pressure you into anything or services you don’t need or understand, do not trust them. However, understand that sometimes they will point out problems with your site. If they are big problems, then you should correct time because there is no point in paying for advertising is your site cannot convert interested visitors into paying customers.

Though there are many basic services such as search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertisement and pay-for-inclusion services, search engine marketing and optimization will involve several different things from a site re-design to new content and marketing to build back links — links to your site from another reputable site — to help increase rankings naturally. Take your time in finding and choosing a search engine marketing company. Because of the investment and importance of the business relationship, this is something that should not be rushed into if you expect the best possible results. The search engine marketing company you ultimately choose should understand and be willing to help you with any aspect of making the decision on the right company for your needs.

SEO and SEM For Online Marketing Success

Filed under: SEO — Tags: — Michael Fleischner @ 8:06 am
by Michael Fleischner

Sometimes there is a great deal of confusion between search engine optimization and search engine marketing. Although these online marketing techniques are quite different from one another, they share a number of similarities.

Let us begin by focusing on search engine optimization also referred to as SEO and comparing SEO to search engine marketing which is referred to as SEM. Both SEO and SEM require a firm understanding of how they work and where they fit in the online marketing mix. SEO requires a strong knowledge of how search engines work and what it takes to achieve top search engine placement. Search Marketing requires a firm understanding about online advertising, keywords, and ROI.

From the outside, both internet marketing methods appear to be very complex. The truth however, is that SEO and SEM are simple to understand. Implementation of best practices is what makes success such a challenge. Search engine optimization is essentially the techniques you use to rank well on major search engines is a direct result of your understanding and application of proven techniques in the area of SEO.

Search engine marketing is the practice of online advertising via major search engines. Even though Google is the largest and most well know, there are literally hundreds of smaller ad networks. Each network functions in much the same way. Advertisers place online ads throughout the network and when a browser clicks, you pay a fee. This is true regardless of conversion.

SEO is different than SEM because it is based on natural or organic search results versus paid results. Search engine optimization techniques can be better defined as on page optimization and off page optimization. On page optimization directs you on how to design your web page in an effort to improve ranking and search ability. Said another way, on page optimization is closely tied to web site design and off page is more associated with factors outside your website itself.

The result is that search engine optimization drives organic traffic to your website or blog. That is to say that after users complete searches on major search engines like Yahoo! or Google that the results list comes from each search engine determining the best result. When users click on these results the advertisers owes nothing. Organic search is usually referred to as free traffic for this very reason.

Search engine marketing is different than SEO because with SEM you pay only when users take a specific action. Unlike traditional advertising you do not pay for an ad to simply appear. Rather, you pay when a browser clicks on your ad. Your advertising costs are related to a number of factors including keyword competitiveness and ad placement.

Doing business online requires a firm knowledge of both search engine optimization as well as search engine marketing Both internet marketing disciplines can support your online success. If you are not currently comfortable with SEO or SEM, begin with some simple research, explore SEO and SEM products, or subscribe to an RSS feed. Doing so can improve your knowledge and expertise in both of these areas.
