It’s always an excellent idea to follow your heart. Create a business out of what you’re passionate about. This is mainly because running a business means having to devote a huge chunk of your life to it. If you’re not doing something you love, you may eventually lose your motivation. #2- Start market research.

Logically, if no one is interested in what you are trying to sell, you will fail to make sales even if you are completed devoted to what you’re doing. If you want to sell knitting or crocheting guides for example, find out first if there are others who want to get into them as well.
The most reliable form of market research is a full feasibility study. There are however also informal ways of researching. You can for instance conduct basic surveys and simple interviews. Identify who your main competitors are and their levels of stability and growth. This is so you can establish right away if you have any hopes of one day surpassing or keeping at par with them.
If a market is too tight, don’t take the exit route just yet. If the main market isn’t a good place to start, you might want to set your sights on a niche or micro niche instead. This is where competition may be easier to handle. An example of a market is crafts and a niche within it is knitting. A micro niche is knitting sweaters. There are examples like this for a lot of other markets so you can’t miss options for yours.
There are many other vital tips to starting a new business. These three however are the most essential ones that you need to tackle first before you implement any idea. Get these three steps wrong and you will either fail or have a very hard time keeping your entrepreneurial venture afloat.
